SERIES B AND LATER
Barcelona-based Sateliot raises €70 million to expand its constellation of satellites

🇪🇸 Barcelona-based Sateliot, a SpaceTech company building a constellation of satellites for global 5G-IoT connectivity, has succesfully raised €70 million in its Series B round.

Wow, how cool is it to see a Barcelona-based startup raising such a significant round to put satellites into space? 🚀

This startup plans to deploy a constellation of more than 100 satellites to provide global connectivity services—especially in remote areas—for defense and cybersecurity applications, consolidating its position as the “first 5G-IoT telecommunications operator from space.”

Founded in 2024, Sateliot is pioneering the first LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite constellation delivering NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) connectivity.

The startup has already launched six satellites into space—the last four in August—and has secured €270 million in contracts with more than 400 customers across 50 countries. The goal is to reach a turnover of €1 billion by 2030. Bra-vo.

SERIES A
French-founded DeepIP raises €14 million to help cut patent drafting times in half by leveraging AI

🇫🇷🇺🇸 NY & Paris-based legaltech startup DeepIP, which is using AI to cut patent drafting time in half, has successfully raised €14 million to modernise the patent filing process.

Alright. This isn’t the first time we see a startup receive funding to streamline patent filing processes. However, I believe it makes complete sense given how much AI can improve things.

According to the press release, filing processes are very expensive, costing anywhere from $20K to $100K in lifetime costs, and also very slow — it might take 2 to 4 years for the patent to be granted, with over 1 million applications awaiting review by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Founded in 2024, DeepIP augments rather than replaces existing patent practitioners. The company has already helped draft 8,500 patent applications, with lawyers reporting up to a 50 per cent reduction in time spent drafting, freeing roughly two hours of work per day.

According to Maxime Le Dantec from Resonance VC: "DeepIP is the fastest startup I’ve ever seen reach 7 figures in ARR in 7 months! To me, this is a clear testament to the massive productivity gains DeepIP is bringing to patent practitioners.”

🇵🇱 Polish bioinformatics Intelliseq has raised €4.5 million to enhance automated DNA analysis and genetic diagnostics.

SEED
Cardiff-based Burbank Software raises €5.7 million to tacke online fraud and chargebacks

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Cardiff-based Burbank, a pioneer bringing secure tap and PIN payments online, has raised €5.7 million in additional funding.

“The payments experience should be the same for everyone, regardless of channel,” CEO Justin Pike said in the company’s funding press release. “In-store we pay by tap and PIN, which is globally trusted and familiar, and now, for the first time ever, we’re enabling the same process in online channels. Simple, secure, and scalable.”

According to the company’s website, false positives cost online merchants $443 billion per year, which is 10 times the cost of fraud. If true, this startup is targeting a massive problem that most likely affects the vast majority of online businesses.

I really like the problem this startup is aiming to solve, and I’m very curious to see what their progress looks like.

PRE-SEED
London-based Paid raises €10 million to grow the AI Agent economy

🇬🇧 London-based Paid, a business platform for AI agents, has successfully raised €10 million in pre-Seed funding to launch its beta programme and grow its engineering team. What a cool pre-seed round. 🚀

This startup is targeting the AI agent industry, which is projected to grow to €43 billion by 2030.

As is often the case with such a big pre-seed round, an experienced entrepreneur is behind the startup. In Paid’s case, that’s Manny Medina – the entrepreneur who co-founded Outreach and scaled the leading sales execution platform from an idea to 6,000 customers, 800 employees, and €231 million in ARR.

“We’re witnessing a profound transformation in how value is created,” said Manny, Founder and CEO of Paid. “AI agents aren’t just automating tasks – they’re taking over complete business processes, replacing traditional SaaS software and enabling humans to focus on higher-value work. This new breed of software requires an entirely new business approach.”
